Scores of churches throughout Fresno, Clovis, and surrounding areas are beginning the New Year of 2025 with 21 Days of Prayer and Fasting.
The Pastor Clusters of Fresno/Clovis have organized the three weeks of round robin prayer services to take place nightly from 7 to 8 p.m. on weekdays and from 6 to 7 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays during the period of January 6-26.
The 2025 prayer gatherings will begin on Monday, January 6—popularly known as Armenian Christmas—at Fresno’s historic First Armenian Presbyterian Church, 430 South First Street at Huntington Boulevard, near Downtown Fresno.
The word “Advent” means “coming” or “arrival.” During Advent Season, Christian Churches celebrate the arrival of Jesus of Nazareth in Bethlehem of Judea and watch with hope for his coming again. Armenian Christmas, also known as Epiphany or Three Kings Day, marks the visit of the Wise Men of the East to the Christ Child.
The series of services will conclude with a Celebration Service on Sunday, January 26, at Cornerstone Church, 1545 Fulton Street at Calaveras Street, Fresno.
The nightly services will be open to the public for in-person participation and also available for online streaming. For a Personal Prayer Guide and detailed Schedule of Services, please contact Pastor Eli Loera at (559) 288-6279 or eliasloera@yahoo.com.
