Independence and Cultural Heritage in Armenia: An Anthropological View

Dr. Nzhdeh Yeranyan will explore how Armenia's cultural heritage institutions, previously shaped by Soviet ideology, were transformed after the collapse of the USSR. Focusing on "independence" and "nationalization" as processes, he will discuss how these institutions adapted to new socio-political realities and will analyze the challenges they faced during this transition. He will also offer insights into other post-Soviet cultural developments in Armenia.

Dr. Nzhdeh Yeranyan is an archaeologist and the Deputy Scientific Director of the History Museum of Armenia. Currently, he is a Fulbright Scholar at Cornell University.

Light refreshments will be provided.

Attendance is free and open to all.
