Welcome back! We will continue to learn Armenian ethnographic dance steps along with the rich history behind each move. Many of these dances originate from historic Western Armenia and have been preserved through years of ethnographic research. This event is not just about dancing; it’s a celebration of cultural heritage that continues to thrive.
This workshop is open to complete beginners and to those who have some dance experience. Children and adults alike are welcome to participate!

What to Bring:
Come dressed in comfortable clothing and trainers. Don’t forget a water bottle to stay hydrated—dancing can get energetic! We’ll have breaks with snacks and refreshments to keep the energy flowing.
After the Workshop:
Join us at a local cafe after the dance class to chat and mingle.

Our workshop leader, Vika Melkonyan, is part of NYC’s @Paraxumb, a community project that celebrates Armenian folk dance heritage. By providing an open space to learn not only Armenian but also Palestinian and Assyrian dances, Paraxumb fosters the remembrance and renewal of at-risk cultural heritage, encouraging thoughtful dance practices.
