Join Armenian Film Society on September, September 7 at LOOK Cinemas in Glendale for a conversation with Anahid Nazarian, who has worked alongside legendary Hollywood director Francis Ford Coppola (The Godfather, The Converation, Apocalypse Now) for over 40 years, moderated by Emmy-winning actor Michael Goorjian.

About Anahid Nazarian

Anahid Nazarian holds the unique distinction of having worked alongside filmmaking legend Francis Ford Coppola for over 40 years. Anahid was born in New Jersey and grew up in Los Angeles. She earned a B.A. degree in Music from UCLA, playing violin, flute, alto saxophone, and bass guitar in a variety of musical groups ranging from symphony orchestras to hard rock bands. Seeking an alternate career in the film industry, she began working for Francis Ford Coppola's company American Zoetrope as director of Zoetrope's research library and has continued her long-time collaboration with Francis Ford Coppola as his story editor, script supervisor, and executive producer of his last four films.

In addition to Francis Ford Coppola’s films, she has served as a script editor, working with many notable screenwriters including Ronald Bass, Arnold Schulman, Mario Puzo, David Peoples, Sofia Coppola, John Le Carre, Carroll Ballard, and Paul Schrader. Among her many screen credits are One From The Heart, The Outsiders, Rumble Fish, The Cotton Club, Peggy Sue Got Married, Tucker, The Rainmaker, The Godfather Part III, Bram Stoker’s Dracula, and the forthcoming Megalopolis, as well as a number of independent films. She is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

About Michael Goorjian

Michael Goorjian is an actor, filmmaker, and writer, who won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Miniseries or Special for his role as David Goodson in David's Mother. Michael Goorjian is also known for his role as Justin, Neve Campbell’s love interest on the series Party of Five, as well as Heroin Bob in SLC Punk! and Punk's Dead. Michael Goorjian achieved recognition for his first major independent film, Illusion, which he wrote, directed and starred in alongside Kirk Douglas. 2023’s Amerikatsi, which was the opening night film at the inaugural Armenian Film Festival, went on to become the first-ever Armenian film to be shortlisted at the Academy Awards for Best International Feature Film.
