The future of Armenia lies within today’s classrooms. To build a nation, we must start from its foundations, our children.
All around the world, Armenians, both in Armenia and in the Diaspora, ponder how we arrived at certain challenges. The answer often lies within the same classroom that holds the possibility of a better future. Thousands of children across Armenia and Artsakh are deprived of their basic right of getting a quality education. Around 700 teaching positions have been vacant for years in public schools across the country. Many students graduate school without a basic knowledge of languages, science, and math.
Through its two year Teacher-Leadership Program, Teach For Armenia recruits and trains recent university graduates and professionals to teach in rural communities and cultivate leadership through community engagement opportunities. To date, our program has engaged more than 500 people from Armenia and the Diaspora that work with more than 30,000 students throughout Armenia and Artsakh.
In October, Teach For Armenia in collaboration with Hidden Road Initiative and All Armenian Student Association will be hosting a series of events in California to present new ways of collaboration and opportunities to be part of our movement. At Teach For Armenia, we believe our communities are full of infinite opportunities and our students have the power to unlock that potential. We hope you join us to learn more about our program!
