Alexandra Vassilikian, born in Bucharest, Romania, pursued her artistic studies at the 'N. Grigorescu' Institute of Fine Arts, graduating in 1971. After graduation, she lived for four years in Brașov, where she had a studio and actively participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions. She then returned to Bucharest in 1979, left Romania on an art scholarship awarded by the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation in Lisbon, Portugal.
