On Friday, November 7, the Armenian Catholic Cathedral of St. Gregory the Illuminator & St. Elias in Beirut opens its doors for a special concert as part of the celebrations of the canonization of St. Ignatius Maloyan.
Under the patronage of His Beatitude Raphaël Bedros XXI Minassian, Catholicos Patriarch of Cilicia of the Armenian Catholics, this evening of sacred and cultural resonance features the Yerevan String Quartet whose members are also members of the Philharmonic Orchestra of Armenia, performing timeless works from the nation’s musical heritage.
Expect a musical journey through the soul of Armenia, with music by Komitas, Eduard Mirzoyan, and Ruben Altunian. A performance of iconic repertoire blending folk poetry and memory, into the art of string quartet.
Performance presented in partnership with the Armenian Catholic Cathedral of St. Gregory the Illuminator and St. Elias, with the support of the Boghossian Foundation.
