Saryan Cultural center presents Lucy Khanyan, an innovative artist , pianist, composer , who is passionate for collaboration and open to experiments. She has initiated ‘ArAr’ project at the Center through sharing her music and creative ideas with the community and actively seeks out collaborations, inviting fellow artists and enthusiasts to contribute their ideas and perspectives through lively discussions and creative partnerships. ‘“Arar” is a groundbreaking project that blends life performances by artists . Lucy’s intention is to create a vibrant environment where art becomes a catalyst for connection and exploration to inspire and enrich the cultural landscape of Saryan Art Center.

Join us every month for a life performance series curated by Lucy Khanyan. Embark on a journey where music intertwines with other realms of artistic expression, from dance and poetry to visual arts and beyond. Each performance will be different and every time we will host a different Artist from realms of art collaborating with Lucy Khanyan .

Wine and coffee will be available during the event.

About :

Lucy Khanyan is a pianist, composer, who composes and plays a fusion of contemporary Armenian avant-garde folk and world elements incorporating impressionistic, surreal colors and multi instrumental approach .

Born in Yerevan, Armenia; lived in the United States for 18 years ,in California , currently residng in Yerevan. Art and music is her full time job and it is something she has loved as far back as she can remember.

Lucy Khanyan has received her classical education in Armenia, she is mainly self-taught , later on she presented herself with original compositions .

She is exploring new and unconventional approaches to creating music that blends elements of folk music with avant-garde techniques. My compositions may feature unconventional instrumentation, complex harmonies, and unusual structures that challenge traditional ideas about what folk music can be.

In her homeland, Lucy Khanyan founded several projects, the main ones being the Lucy Khanyan Ethno Jazz Trio (Bass, Drums, Keys)and the Lucy Khanyan Avant Garde Folk Quartet (Piano, ,Kanon, Blul ,Shvi, Percussion instruments) . Lucy Khanyan has released several albums and currently is active as a performer , creator and collaborator.
