The Armenian Cultural and Educational Center (ACEC) warmly invites you to a moving tribute concert, Komitas – Voice of Armenia, taking place on Sunday, October 19, at 4:00 PM at the ACEC in Watertown, MA. This special event features a selection of works by Komitas Vardapet, the visionary Armenian composer, priest, and ethnomusicologist whose groundbreaking work preserved and elevated the soul of the Armenian people. His music masterfully captures the essence of Armenian folk and liturgical traditions, leaving a lasting legacy that continues to inspire generations.
The concert will feature performances by the distinguished Haig and Ani Hovsepian, as well as the renowned Hamazkayin ARTNOVA Choir under the direction of Maestro Artur Veranian. Together, these artists will present a powerful program that reflects the richness of Komitas’s musical legacy and its lasting relevance across generations and cultures. About the Performers
🎻 Haig Hovsepian
A dynamic Armenian-American violinist praised by Ilya Kaler as “one of the most gifted musicians of his generation,” Haig Hovsepian blends classical mastery with jazz and Armenian folk roots. At just 26, he has performed at Carnegie Hall, Boston Symphony Hall, and internationally. A graduate of the Cleveland Institute of Music and a multi-award-winning artist, Haig is also a passionate educator and advocate for charitable causes.
🎹 Ani Hovsepian
Ani Hovsepian is a pianist and educator with a Master of Fine Arts in Piano Performance, Art Criticism, and Musicology. She studied in Armenia, Russia, and at Brandeis University. Founder of ACH Piano Studio in Belmont, MA, Ani has performed internationally and with groups like the Lydian String Quartet and Cantata Singers, bringing deep cultural insight to every performance.

Established in 2024 by the Hamazkayin Armenian Cultural and Educational Society in partnership with the Armenian Cultural and Educational Center (ACEC), ARTNOVA is a mixed adult choir led by Maestro Artur Veranian, Doctor of Music and internationally acclaimed choral conductor. With decades of dedication to vocal excellence, Maestro Veranian brings his celebrated technique and deep expertise to shape inspiring, polished performances that uplift and connect audiences.
