On April 09 th, at Theater am Marientor in Duisburg, Ara Malikian presents his new tour 'Intruso', a very personal journey that starts from the anguish of not fitting anywhere to finally embrace the richness of his multicultural identity and find his home in the whole world through art and music.

In Lebanon, I was not considered enough of a "Lebanese" because I was of Armenian origin; the Armenians did not consider me enough of an “Armenian” because I was born in Lebanon; When I settled in Europe, I was not considered «European» because I was not born in Europe.

This experience was also reflected in my relationship with music. Every note resonated with the nostalgia of a home that did not exist, a place where I never quite fit in.

However, this condition of being an "intruder" gave me the opportunity to explore and enjoy fascinating music and cultures, foreign to my own tradition, contributing my own voice, my multicultural experience.

Thanks to my condition of being an “intruder”, I have discovered that the whole world is my home. My home is in my body and in my soul, an infinite space where identity transforms and music becomes a universal language.
