Tamara Stepanyan will lead a masterclass at AFS HQ, where she will offer a deep dive into the artistic, technical, and personal journey of creating MY ARMENIAN PHANTOMS.
MY ARMENIAN PHANTOMS is Armenia’s Oscar submission for the Best International Feature Film category for the 2026 Academy Awards.
What should you expect from this masterclass?
This masterclass is an in-depth, educational session led by director Tamara Stepanyan, and is meant to provide a behind-the-scenes look at the creative, technical, and professional aspects of filmmaking. You can expect a mix of lecture, discussion, and audience Q&A, offering both inspiration and practical insight into the filmmaking process.
Get creative insight, career perspective, an interactive Q&A, and a unique networking opportunity with one of the most exciting emerging voices in Armenian cinema. The masterclass is expected to run approximately two hours, but participants should plan to be available between 11am-2pm.

MY ARMENIAN PHANTOMS will have its US premiere at AFI FEST at the Chinese Theatre Friday, October 24 at 6:15pm.
