A Colour We've Never Seen explores the emotional connections we form with places we know through memory, family stories, and imagination rather than direct experience.

Bringing together Armenian-Canadian artist Amy Kazandjian and Berlin-based artist Navid Norouzi, the exhibition reflects on questions of diaspora, belonging, inherited histories, and cultural identity through abstraction and colour.

While Kazandjian's work draws on her Armenian heritage and the experience of cultural memory across generations, Norouzi reflects on his connection to Iran - a place deeply embedded in his family history and imagination, yet never directly experienced firsthand.

The works invite viewers into inner landscapes shaped by memory, absence, longing, and connection - places that live vividly within us, even when we have never truly seen them.

Amy Kazandjian is an Armenian-Canadian artist based in Berlin. Through vibrant colour, layered textures, and intuitive mark-making, her work explores memory, community, cultural heritage, and emotional landscapes shaped by both lived and inherited experience. Her practice is an expressive celebration of life, navigating seasons of chaos, instability, and joy.

We would be delighted to welcome representatives of the Embassy to the Artist Talk and would be grateful if you might consider sharing the event through your cultural channels.
