Speakers: Guglielmo Mariani & Robin Foà
Guglielmo Mariani, MD, has been a Professor of Hematology at the Universities of L'Aquila, Palermo, and Rome, Italy. From 2015 to 2021 GM taught at the U. of Westminster in London, UK, and has been a coordinator of EU projects focused on the modernization of teaching in Bulgaria and Southern Caucasus universities (Armenia, Georgia, Azerbaijan). GM is the author of numerous publications, mostly in high-ranked scientific journals, and has published several novels.
Robin Foà, born in Wallsend (England), is currently Professor Emeritus of Hematology at the Sapienza University of Rome. Photography has always been more than a hobby. He has published Deserti/Deserts in 2011, China 1985 in 2012, Nature and Man - together with his son Stefano - in 2013, Altopiano Andino/Andean Highlands in 2014, Alaska Dreaming - together with his wife Rita Guarini - in 2016, Patagonia/Tierra del Fuego in 2019, Carretera Austral - again with Rita Guarini - in 2020, Bolivia in 2021, Marble Caves in 2021 and Namibia - again with Stefano Foà - in 2023. Over the years, he has combined his passion for travel and photography with his profession as a doctor and researcher.
