Big news!
We are excited to share that AGBU Young Professionals of Sydney and AGBU Sydney will be hosting its first annual Chess Tournament in March 2026! This first of its kind event will bring the Armenian community together to celebrate a game deeply loved and enjoyed by Armenians of all ages.
Chess has always been more than a game and has held a special place in our culture. After all, we have one of the highest number of chess Grandmasters per capita and regard chess as a national sport.
Whether you’ve been playing for years or you’re learning chess for the first time, this is a great chance to get involved. The Armenian Virtual College of AGBU is offering free Chess Courses. It’s a great way to get ready for the tournament. Enrolments run from 5 to 21 December, and classes begin in January. Enrol in the courses through the 🔗 Link.
