Come join us for the third edition of our Armenian Circle Dances workshop!
This workshop is a lively and welcoming event, perfect for anyone who loves to dance or wants to connect with Armenian culture. Whether you're a seasoned pro or a complete beginner, everyone is welcome to join in the fun at the Nevart Gulbenkian Hall.
This edition will be led by Loussiné Khatchadourian, who has been trained in Armenian folk dance by the late Roudik Haroyan, a renowned ethnographer and dance expert. While not a professional dancer, Loussiné is passionate about continuing Haroyan’s legacy and sharing the joy and history of Armenian folk dance with others.
Roudik Haroyan (1948–2013) was an economist by training but dedicated his life to ethnographic research on traditional Armenian dances. He founded and trained multiple ensembles in Armenia, where he reconstructed and taught dances he discovered during his travels. His work lives on through his students and the rich tradition he helped preserve.
No prior dance experience is necessary—just bring your enthusiasm and a willingness to celebrate life through Armenian dance! Wear comfortable, supportive shoes, and ensure you have enough space to move freely as we dance together.
Mark your calendars and get ready to dance! Everyone is welcome, especially non-Armenians, so don't miss this opportunity to connect with your roots and make new friends.
