Introduction to Armenian History, Culture and Heritage - Session 2
Teaching dance through the Armenia Alphabet (Equipping parents/carers to support children's learning)
Speaker: Lerna Babikyan
Lerna Babikyan is an independent artist, educator and writer from Istanbul. She worked in varied school settings, learning environments and institutions as dance and movement instructor over 25 years, including Bahcesehir University, Theater Department. She completed her MA degree in 2013 at Schumacher College & Plymouth University with her thesis in practice entitled: "Experiencing Armenian Language Though Eco somatic, Interdisciplinary Performativities". She has been making presentations, conducting workshops on embodied learning, cultural diversity, indigenous pedagogies, dance improvisation in scientific conferences and symposiums; leading teacher trainings as well; Babikyan moved to the UK last summer currently working on somatic, multi-layered roots in body based experiential learning practices.
