AGBU London is thrilled to announce our very first dance workshop led by Shakeh Major Tchilingirian. Spend a summer afternoon with us learning and connecting with Armenian culture and heritage though the joy of song and dance.
The workshop is designed to be educational and fun focusing on traditional folk music. We'll begin with an introduction to Armenian folk dances, delving into their connections to the people, the land, rituals, and traditions. Following this, you'll have the opportunity to learn and experience a selection of popular folk dances.
No prior dance experience or knowledge is necessary—just bring your enthusiasm and willingness to celebrate life through Armenian dance. Wear comfortable and supportive shoes, and ensure you have enough clear space around you to move freely as we dance together.
Shakeh Major Tchilingirian is an acclaimed solo dance artist, choreographer and performing artist. Her unique interpretations highlight the power and spirituality of Armenian dances as seen in her performances, productions and numerous collaborations. Over the last twenty years, she has conducted over 100 workshops internationally and continues to conduct workshops throughout Europe.
