A coming-of-age story set against a multigenerational war in the post-Soviet Caucasus Mountains, My Sweet Land follows 11-year-old Vrej, as he is forced to flee his village in Artsakh during the 2020 war with Azerbaijan. Returning to his surviving home months later, Vrej’s dreams of becoming a dentist are shattered as he discovers he must learn the ways of war to defend his endangered home. Can he carry a nation’s hopes on his young shoulders?
