POSTPONED: Youth Chess Event

On the Golden Jubilee of its foundation, and under the supervision of the Lebanese Chess Federation, Ararad Sports Association is honored to invite you to participate in its 1st edition of the Youth (U12-U14-U16) Chess Event on 20th of October 2019.
The participants will be grouped in 3 age categories:
U12: Born on 2007 or later
U14: Born on 2005-2006
U16: Born on 2003-2004
The event will consist of a 6-rounds Swiss system, with time control of 10 minutes + 5 seconds per move per player.
The tie-break system to be adopted will be as follows:
For the minimum of 3 rated players:
1. Direct encounter
2. Median Buchholz (upper -1, lower -1)
3. Buchholz Cut 1(lower -1)
4. Tournament Performance Rating
5. Greater number of victories
Otherwise:
1. Direct encounter
2. Buchholz
3. Median Buchholz
4. Greater number of victories
The prizes for each category will be distributed as follows:
-1st place: Trophy + medal + gift (4 training sessions)
- 2nd place: medal + gift (4 training sessions)
- 3rd place: medal + gift (4 training sessions)
- girl (best performance): medal + gift (4 training sessions)
The training sessions will be conducted by the Fide Trainer Charles Kayle.
The playing venue will be the Ararad Chess Club (Beirut, Nahr district, behind Peugeot bldg.)
Registration fees: 15,000 LL (Lunch is included)
Dead line for registration: 19/10/2019 6 PM
The registered players should be present at the club at most 10.30 AM.
Round 1 will start at 11 AM sharp.

All the participants and guests are invited to the closing ceremony and the buffet directly after the end of the 6th round.
